As far as I know, it means so very not "արա"... maybe it changed it's meaning I don't know, but the "malaka" I know describes present Armenian military surprisingly well.

Well, now I got what you mean My Greek friends used to call each other "malaka" all the time, but they warned me that it's not a polite word. Guess, something similar to "bastard" or "asshole" in English.

In fact they use that word so often, Greeks I mean, that it lost its offensive meaning. And it's more translates as "faggot", than asshole or something else.
They say it but they don't mean it...like Russians, who use curse with every phrase, but they do not want to offend with it. They just cannot help it.
